Purchase and manage extra preview branches from the CLI

Right now, extra preview branches can only be purchased through the dashboard. The CLI is our team’s main way of working with Trigger.dev, so every time we hit the preview branch cap we have to leave the terminal, open the dashboard, and buy more branches by hand.

Request: add preview branch limit management to the CLI, for example:

  • See current usage vs. the limit (active / max preview branches)

  • Buy extra branch add-ons, or raise the limit

  • Optionally, a clear prompt or error when a deploy hits the cap, with the command to fix it

Why it matters: hitting the cap blocks preview deploys mid-workflow, and since we’re CLI-first, this is the one step we still have to do in the dashboard. Being able to do it from the CLI would also let us script it in CI.

What we already do: we archive branches with npx trigger.dev@latest preview archive and auto-archive on PR close with the GitHub Action. That helps, but we still reach the cap regularly.
