Idempotency for non-successful tasks

Is there a way to make idempotency such that it returns the existing task if the task is either successful or pending but retries the task if it's failed?

No we don't support this at the moment but it's a good idea. I don't think it would be hard to implement this actually. Can you create a feature request?
